The?4th Annual?City of Santa Clarita YOUth Sports Festival?is coming to the Santa Clarita Sports Complex?on Saturday, August 18,?from 10 a.m. ? 3 p.m. Admission is free to the public.
The FREE Festival is designed to bring the community together to raise awareness about the important role physical activity plays in the lives of young people .
Previously held at Central?Park, the?new, larger location will also feature a variety of water sports, including stand-up paddle boarding and kayaking, as well as fun water games like ?Dunk the Lifeguard.?
Skate enthusiasts can even check out a demo of professional and amateur athletes at the Santa Clarita Skate Park. ?
In addition to fun activities for all ages, the festival offers a variety of foods for purchase and a raffle with great prizes like amusement park tickets, restaurant gift cards, and professional sports team memorabilia. All proceeds benefit the City?s Supporting Children?s Opportunities in Recreation Events (S.C.O.R.E.) program, which provides assistance with recreation scholarships for underprivileged youth.
The FREE Festival is divided into activity zones offering more than 20 recreational games and activities, including: tennis, golf, football, hockey, volleyball, baseball, rock climbing, interactive fitness equipment, trampoline jumping, and much more.
Some of the region?s biggest names in sports will be represented at the event, including the Los Angeles Clippers, the 2012 NHL Stanley Cup Champions -?Los Angeles Kings, Lancaster JetHawks?and many more!
